How to Make Porthole Fish Extender Gifts

Everyone wants to know how to make the cute mini portholes, so I finally got around to making a tutorial list!  FYI it does contain affiliate links, consider using them to support my FE habit :)  

First, get enough 4" wooden circle plaques for your project.  I suggest getting a couple of extra ones to practice with at first:

You'll want to stain them.  I used:




with foam brushes:


You will also need



that's what you will print the blue background and cabin number on.

I suggest that you have a vinyl cutter for this project, too, if you don't already have one.  I use a Silhouette, but a Cricut works, too.  Here is info on both machines:



Next, you'll need silver vinyl for the background circle.  This roll comes with transfer tape which is also handy for this project:




Some spray sealer to seal and give a nice finish:




and the finishing touches, tiny furniture tacks and a hanging loop
